You can send an email to editorial@jcdr.net mentioning the article number and the phrase "Published article correction"" in the subject of the e-mail. In the body of the email, clearly state the corrections that need to be made. Attach any relevant screenshots, proof correction forms, or other supporting documents to help the publication team understand the required corrections. Post-Correction Process The publication team will review the corrections and make the necessary changes to the article. The corrected PDF version of the article will be updated on the website. You will receive an email notification once the corrections have been implemented.

If you encounter missing or corrupt table/figure files in a published article, you can follow these steps to submit the correct files: Sending Files via Email Compose an email and address it to the editorial team at editorial@jcdr.net. Attach the missing or corrected table/figure files to the email. Send the email to the editorial backend staff. Upon receiving the email, the editorial backend staff will review the attached files. The correct table/figure files will be integrated into the article. The updated version of the article, with the corrected files, will be uploaded on the website for further processing. You will receive an email notification confirming that the files have been successfully replaced.

The Faster Manuscript Processing Service is intended to accelerate the timeline for authors to receive a decision and publish their manuscript (if accepted). The Early Online Ahead of Print Service assists authors in speeding up the process of publishing after acceptance of their manuscript. 8 How to send the peer review report after the due date?


Kindly send us your review report file via e-mail to peer.review.dep@jcdr.net. Please mention the manuscript id in the subject of the e-mail. We will only consider the review report if a decision has not yet been made. If a decision has already been reached, your report will not be taken into account.


9 What are the different types of manuscripts accepted by JCDR and their respective word limits?


Original Articles: Up to 3000 words, excluding abstract and references. Review Articles: Up to 4000 words, excluding abstract and references. Case Reports: Up to 1200 words, excluding references and abstract. Case Series: Same as case reports, but with more than two cases. Images in Medicine: Up to 1000 words, excluding references. Letter to the Editor: Up to 500 words and five references. Clinicians Corner: Up to 600 words. Short Communications: Up to 1500 words. Announcements: Up to 100 words. Book Review: Up to 1500 words.


10 What are the authorship criteria for JCDR?


To justify authorship, the contributors must meet the following three conditions: Conception and design, acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data. Either drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content. Final approval of the version to be published. Additionally, the journal expects the Guide/Mentor and the Principal Investigator to be part of the authorship for articles based on thesis work.


11 What is the maximum number of contributors allowed for different manuscript types?


Original Articles and Systematic Reviews: Up to eight contributors. Research Protocols: Up to four contributors. Case Reports, Case Series, Short Communication, and Images in Medicine: Up to five contributors. Letter to the Editor: Up to two contributors. Review of Literature: Up to six contributors.


12 What are the guidelines for reporting experiments on human subjects and animals?


For human subjects, the procedures followed must be in accordance with the ethical standards of the responsible committee on human experimentation and the Helsinki Declaration. For animal experiments, the authors must indicate whether they adhered to the guidelines of an institution or national research council governing the care and use of laboratory animals.

Manuscripts must be submitted using the JCDR Pre Publishing Portal. The journal does not accept print submissions.


14 What are the guidelines for submitting a manuscript?


The manuscript should be divided into sections like Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, Discussion, References, Tables, Figures, etc. The language should be UK English. The abstract should be structured for original articles and unstructured for case reports and case series. The references should be in Vancouver style. Tables and figures should be numbered in Arabic numerals and cited in the text.


15 What are the guidelines for protecting patients rights to privacy?


Identifying information should not be published unless it is essential for scientific purposes. The patient, parent, or guardian must provide written consent for publication, and this should be indicated in the article.


16 What are the guidelines for preparing the manuscript?


Title Page: Include title, authors, affiliations, and contact information. Abstract: Up to 250 words for case reports and brief reports, and up to 350 words for original articles. Introduction: Summarize the purpose and rationale for the study. Methods: Describe the selection of subjects, methods, and procedures. Results: Present the results in a logical sequence. Discussion: Emphasize new and important aspects of the study. References: Use Vancouver style. Tables and Figures: Number them in Arabic numerals consecutively.

The whole of the literary matter in the JCDR is copyright of its publishers. For reproduction, refer to the disclaimer and copyrights.


19 What are the publication charges for articles submitted to JCDR?


For articles from within India: Original article / Review / Case Series: Rs 10,051 (plus 18% GST) Case Report / Images in Medicine / Letter to Editor: Rs 8,051 (plus 18% GST) For articles from outside India: Original article / Review / Case Series: USD 320 Case Report / Images in Medicine / Letter to Editor: USD 240 These charges are applicable for all articles submitted on or after May 1, 2023.


20 Are there any submission fees for JCDR?


No, JCDR does not charge any submission fees. The processing and publication charges are only billed at the time of acceptance of the manuscript.


21 Are there any exceptions to the publication charges?


Yes, there are two exceptions: If the Letter to the Editor is in response to an article previously published in JCDR, then no charges will be payable. Authors who have availed any other paid service from JCDR will not be charged the publication fee.


22 What is the journals recommendation for authors regarding library subscriptions?


JCDR earnestly requests authors to ask their respective libraries to subscribe to the print version of the journal.


23 When are the publication charges billed?


JCThe processing and publication charges are billed at the time of acceptance of the manuscript. JCDR does not charge any submission fees.


24 What are the requirements for declaring conflicts of interest?


All manuscripts must be accompanied by a conflict of interest disclosure statement or a declaration by the authors that they do not have any conflicts of interest to declare.
